Microshock
Microshock occurs when a small amount of electricty flows down a conductor path to the heart muscle, causing arrhythmias. A person may not even be aware of any sensation related to the flow. Patients with external pacemakers may be at greater risk for microshock. Ventricular fibrillation which is the most fatal of the arrhythmias, can be caused by a microshock.
Your body could conduct small amounts of electricity to your patient's
pacemaker leads without you being aware of it.
